Simpson Stfort

Simpson Stfourt is a United States Air Force Veteran who served from 1987- 2007. His was twenty years in the Air Force was something that he wishes that he could repeat again because of the experience. While being in the Air Force he held positions which included being a languaist, a Master Sergeant (E7) and also being a part of the Honor Guard. While serving, Simpson had three deployments which included two trips to Haiti and one to Guantanamo Bay. The Air Force broadened his travels bring him to places like Japan and all accross the United States. For Simpson, he was luckly never injured and didn't have to embrace any battle. The Air Force taught him alot and made his life better. He learned respect, brotherhood, loyalty, honor and discipline. Joining was Air Force was the best thing that happened to Simpson besides the birth of his child. He served his country well and his country took care of him. The military was such an impact on Simpsons life that he would even consider his own daughter to enlist. Usually we here of alot of bad elements that are associated with the U.S. military but for Simpson this was just the complete opposite. Still this day he still receives pension from the military and has many benefits that help his family.
Coming into this interview i wasn't sure what to expect. I had meet Simpson once over the summer when i was on vacation and that was it. At the end of our interview Simpson said something that was remarkable. He said that by us doing this interview he really felt that his time in the Air Force was a true purpose. He felt that it was destiny that made him join the military and decades later be able to tell me his story. He felt that it was Gods way of connecting his people. When Simpson told me that i truly felt honored to be in the position that I was in. This was more than just an interview to me. All together the interview and everything that i have learned in this class has been a breathetaking experience. Before i didn't really care much about the military, but now i do. The military is more than something just to be associated with battles. It is something that brings honor, loyalty, brotherhood, discipline, determination and most of all respect.
